Due to a low volume of apples this year, we are not able to accommodate school groups this year. We apologize for this, and hope you will consider returning next year. Thank you for your interest in visiting the orchard!
We hope that students who visit the orchard have a positive, fun, and interesting experience. We want each visitor to come away with an increased appreciation for fresh apples, and for what is involved in the process of growing and harvesting them.
What we can provide
We meet with the group initially, do introductions, orient students to our simple orchard rules and behavior in this setting. Students are invited to see the apple sorter and cider press. Bags are marked with student names, picking practices are reviewed, followed by time spent picking apples in the orchard. Each child is allowed to sample an apple while out there picking. Depending on the time of day, and supply, we can offer the students a taste of the fresh pressed cider. Usually the complete visit takes no more than an hour.
What we need from school leaders
In order to provide adequate supervision, we request that you provide one adult for every four children who come to the orchard. Please take a moment to watch the short instructional video about how to pick apples. We suggest that you view this with your students before coming.
The price for school groups
We provide each student with a quarter peck bag that can be filled with pick-your-own apples, for $5.00 per bag. We ask that the school pay in full when the visit takes place. We accept debit/credit cards, checks or cash.
In the case of rain, or a change in plans, please contact us as soon as possible.
Thanks again for your interest in the orchard,
Emily and Brien Davis

We can schedule your groups on a Friday during October for the 2017 season. If Friday doesn’t work, please ask – we may be able to accommodate another day. We will contact you and let you know if your requested visit date is available.
